BIANCA HERRERA
GRADUATE INTERN
Bianca is a graduate intern and is pursuing her master’s degree in social work at Columbia University.
Bianca’s passion for abolition and decarceration guides her advocacy and policy work. Her previous work as a student intern at the Osborne Association allowed her to connect with and support incarcerated folks with services and programming. As a result of this experience, Bianca’s sole focus became shutting down Rikers Island.
She is helping organize Katal’s #CutShutInvest campaign through town hall meetings and other ways of connecting with the community. Bianca also assists with various research and education efforts that advocate for the effective implementation of the Less Is More Act and other important issues.
