On Sunday, September 15th, we gathered at the Miller Street Community Farm to harvest marigolds and food. We clipped flowers, collected seed pods, and harvested peppers and tomatoes. Together, we distributed the food and flowers with information on upcoming Department of Transportation plans in the neighborhood. Thank you to everyone who joined our September Connecticut Statewide Criminal Justice Reform Call. During the call, the lobbyist summarized the end of the last legislative session and discussed the November elections and how they may impact criminal justice reform efforts. We were also joined by organizers, advocates, and community members from across the state who are dedicated to ending solitary confinement, increasing naloxone accessibility in CT pharmacies, supporting the next generation of BILPOC farmers, and reforming probation and parole.

Save the Date for Harvesting Change on Saturday, October 26th, from 5 pm to 7:30 p.m. in Bloomfield! Harvesting Change is Cultivating Justice’s annual opportunity for sharing and vision setting. At Harvesting Change, we’ll review what was harvested this year, share skills that were learned, and begin planning for the upcoming year. This event is open to families and folks of all ages! Be on the lookout for an invite this week!
