New York: #LessIsMoreNY Day of Action, January 28

In Hartford: Join Us for Our February Monthly Member Meeting

New York: #LessIsMoreNY Day of Action,
Tuesday, January 28

New York reincarcerates more people for technical violations of parole than nearly every other state in the nation, filling up state prisons and contributing to overcrowding in local jails. That’s why this year, Albany must pass our #LessIsMoreNY act. By passing this bill, New York can end the cycle of reincarceration for technical violations of parole; decarcerate jails and prisons throughout the state; accelerate the closure of Rikers; and advance the cause of justice.

Join us in Albany this Tuesday, January 28, from 10 a.m to 3 p.m., when the #LessIsMoreNY coalition convenes for a Day of Action at the New York State Capitol.

Who: People impacted by parole; Katal Center for Health, Equity, and Justice; Unchained; A Little Piece of Light; Columbia University Justice Lab; Lippman Commission/More Just NYC; and bill sponsors Senator Brian A. Benjamin and Assemblyman Walter T. Mosley.

Where: New York State Capitol, Albany | Rally on the Million Dollar Staircase at 12:30 p.m.

See more details and RSVP.
