Get Out the Vote for the Nov. 4th Election

We’re less than a week away from the November 4th general election!

In NYC, voters across the five boroughs will choose city council members, the comptroller, the public advocate, and, perhaps most notably, a new mayor. There are also six proposals on the ballot in this year’s elections in NYC, click here to learn more about them.

Early voting in NYC began on Saturday, within two days the early voting numbers matched the entire, nine-day early vote count from 2021. Voter turnout is up in all five boroughs and more than a quarter-million New Yorkers have already cast their ballots in the 2025 NYC mayoral general election. Early voting continues until Sunday, November 2nd and it is a critical time to ensure New Yorker’s make it out to the polls and vote. Click here to find your early voting and election day poll site. If you’re based outside of NYC, here is where you can find your pollsite for the November 4th general election.

To help ensure New Yorkers make it to the polls, we’re doing two more Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Phone Zaps via Zoom ahead of the November 4th election. Please register for the following GOTV sessions:

For this phone zap, we will be in the community together to make these Get Out the Vote phone calls. No experience is required to join our GOTV Phone Zaps. It’s fast, easy, and it really does make an impact. Join us for our GOTV Phone Zap!.

As we continue the fight to shut down Rikers, we know that whoever takes office in 2026 in NYC will have a critical role to play.

What positions have the leading mayoral candidates taken on the question of closing the Rikers Island jail complex? This was a specific question at the mayoral debate held last week on October 22nd. The three candidates participating in the debate laid out their answers. If you don’t have time to watch the debate video, we’ve put together a new info sheet which reflects the answers of each candidate down below.

If you want more details about each candidates position on Rikers, here are some additional resources you may find helpful (candidates listed in alphabetical order by last name):

Inspiring Resistance This Week

– As ICE ramps up its terror campaign against immigrant communities, people across the country are fighting back by chasing down ICE agents in their cars and disrupting them. See more here.

– As the Trump regime ends SNAP benefits for millions on November 1st, we are witnessing the expansion of community-based mutual aid.
