Hands Off Our Vote: Early Voting Starts Oct 24
In the United States, most of us believe voters should pick our elected leaders, but this regime wants to keep people from voting so they can control our elections and seize more power. Most New Yorkers across the political spectrum want every voter to vote and every vote cast to be counted. That’s why it’s important for everyone to get out and vote early or on election day, November 3rd. Our country is strongest when all of us show up, speak out, and refuse to be intimidated.
Here are all the details you’ll need to vote:
- Register to vote: In New York, the deadline to register to vote is October 24th; here is where you can register.
- Early Voting: Early voting starts October 24th and through November 1st. Click here to find your early voting and election day poll site.
- Outside NYC: If you’re based outside of NYC, here is where you can find your polling site for the November 3rd general election.
- Can you vote? Formerly incarcerated people and people currently on parole or post-release supervision are eligible to vote in New York; click here to understand your voting rights post-incarceration.
Make a plan with a friend to get out and vote – and keep an eye on the news. We must be ready to reject any election sabotage efforts on or after Election Day and take action to ensure that the will of the people prevails.
Join us tomorrow, Friday, October 23rd, from 12-1 pm for a Pro-Democracy Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Community Phone Banking Session. RSVP here to join us!
During Friday’s Pro-Democracy GOTV Phone Zap, we’ll call friends, family members, and neighbors to make sure they are registered for the upcoming November 3rd election. We must protect the election and ensure every vote counts. These calls are fast, easy, and it really does make an impact. No experience is needed. We hope you can join us on Friday!
Post-Election Debrief: We’ll also be holding a post-election debrief the day after the general election on Wednesday, November 4th from 6-7 pm via Zoom. This will be an opportunity for us to be in community with one another, process the election results and any sabotage, and discuss action steps we can take together to defend our democracy. Register here to join us.

We’re One Month Away from Katal’s 10-Year Anniversary Event
This year marks Katal’s 10-year anniversary — and next month, we’re gathering to celebrate! Join us on Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 6 – 9pm, in Manhattan. Tickets include food, drinks, music, and a gift bag. Register for the event here!
Throughout this year, we’ve shared some reflections on a decade of organizing and building power. Together we’ve done some amazing things across the last ten-plus years, among them developing new leaders, strengthening movement infrastructure, and winning big fights–such as bail reform, parole reform, and increasing jail and prison oversight–that improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
We are looking forward to celebrating with our members, supporters, and allies who have been part of this journey. Space is limited, so if you want to join us, please get your ticket for the Nov. 19th celebration.
If you’re interested in sponsoring the event or buying an ad in our program book, please contact Yonah at yonah@katalcenter.org.
