Outreach to #FreeThemNowCT
This week, we were out flyering in different parts of Hartford, speaking with community members about our #FreeThemNowCT campaign and the need to develop a substantive COVID-19 plan to protect people detained in correctional facilities. Research shows the Omicron variant is incredibly contagious and effects peoples immune response more than the previous COVID-19 variants. To learn more about our #FreeThemNowCT campaign click here.

Last month, we held a rally at the State Capitol to demand lawmakers develop a comprehensive plan to address COVID-19 in jails and prisons in Connecticut. During the rally, we heard from our families members of incarcerated individuals, our members, and community groups about the need to #FreeThemNowCT. Check out this highlight video of the action!

Starting this month, we are launching our Katal Corner in the Northend Agent’s. This is Connecitcuts’ largest and longest-published African American newspaper and they focus on amplifying the voices.
