Stop Solitary CT Press Conference

Barbara Fair & Rep. Robyn Porter joined by advocates and community members at the LOB 8.30.24 for a Stop Solitary CT Press Conference

To help address the ongoing violations by the Connecticut Department of Correction, Katal joined fellow advocates, community members, and justice-impacted individuals at the Legislative Office Building on Monday for a press conference led by Stop Solitary CT and Rep. Robyn Porter. Speakers highlighted how these violations have resulted in preventable deaths and inhumane treatment in prisons, drawing attention to issues such as medical neglect and dehumanizing conditions faced by incarcerated individuals. As a part of the press conference, we called on elected officials to enforce the PROTECT Act, passed in 2022.

Harvesting Change 2024

Save the date– Harvesting Change is Back 10/26!  Each fall at Harvesting Change we gather to talk about the food and skills we want to grow in the coming year; recap and share what we grew and learned this year; and break bread together over a meal prepared with produce from our farm partners.

This year’s meal will be prepared by Cultivating Justice member, community growing expert, and chef Rob Rowe.

We’ll also feature a couple workshops, crafts for adults and kids, and we’ll prep a part of the meal together. Bring the entire family!

Spots are limited, RSVP today! If you have any questions, contact Diana Martinez at diana@katalcenter.org.
