We’re excited to resume our Connecticut Statewide Criminal Justice Reform Call on Thursday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to noon. If you’re interested in learning more about the upcoming elections, the 2025 legislative session, and the latest on reforming the criminal legal system in Connecticut, join us! We’ll hear from a diverse group of organizers, advocates, and community members working on every aspect of justice reform in the state. October Cultivating Justice Meetings

Join our next virtual monthly meeting on Thursday evening, October 3, at 6:30 p.m.!

Wondering how to get a farm number or what might grow well in the next six weeks or so? Check out our notes from last month’s meeting!

We’re also looking for folks to join our Growing Power Planning Committee and help plan our 2025 conference with us.

To get involved with Cultivating Justice, contact Diana Martinez at diana@katalcenter.org.

Katal Team Heads to Bloomfield Town Hall

Our team researched land records at Bloomfield Town Hall on August 27, 2024.

The Katal team, along with community members, recently visited Bloomfield Town Hall to learn how to conduct title searches and review land records to identify potential farmland. Our members and staff used this opportunity to practice conducting title searches. Members learned how to find the history of a piece of property, specific land, or a property owner. A title search is a powerful tool for holding problematic property owners and businesses accountable.
