Lily Krug

Form goes here.

Lily has an organizing background in both union and environmental organizing. Prior to working at Katal, Lily studied anthropology and environmental justice at Wesleyan University. While at Wesleyan, Lily was a part of the leadership teams for two environmental justice groups, working with Connecticut legislators and community members to organize rallies, protests, and a youth lobby day. Lily also organized with Wesleyan’s Union of Student Employees, which became the first voluntarily recognized undergraduate union in the country. The following year, Lily became one of the founding and core organizers of Wesleyan’s Dining Workers Union (DWU). She went on to serve on the bargaining committee where DWU won a 50% raise over the course of their organizing and contract.

During her senior year of Wesleyan, Lily completed a year-long ethnographic honors thesis on Central Park not simply as a location where social and political issues occur, but as a place where these issues are embedded into its core. Parks, greenspace, and creating community spaces that better reflect the people that use them are passions of Lily. When not working, you can find Lily spending time with her friends and family, reading, crafting, or enjoying time outside, and sometimes all of those at once.
