Katal: Trainings and Coaching
Katal provides training and coaching for community organizing, advocacy, and more.
Here’s what we currently offer:
We provide trainings on the theory and practice of community organizing, campaign strategy, and leadership development. Since 2016, we’ve trained thousands of people in community organizations, advocacy and policy groups, networks and coalitions, foundations, and faith groups.
We also provide formal and informal coaching and support to a wide-range of leaders, on organizational development, staff management, and more.

Katal’s Apprentice Organizing program is an opportunity for those who want to learn the science and art of community organizing, but have little to no community organizing experience. As a job-training program, the Apprenticeship is a full-time paid position, lasts approximately 12 months, and prepares participants to secure employment as a community organizer. Apprentice organizers learn organizing by doing organizing — theory and practice. Apprentices are fully integrated members of the team, receive intensive coaching and support, and gain direct and transferable experience. For more information about the Apprentice Organizer program, reach out to us using the Contact Us form below!

In 2017, we launched the Katal Fellowship Program. Fellows are integrated as full-time staff members and receive training and coaching in organizing, advocacy, and organizational development. Fellows become part of an organizational home that connects them with local and national networks and other opportunities. Fellowships usually run 12 – 18 months. When fellowship opportunities become available, they are posted on our jobs page.
